Yinka, Where Is Your Huzband? by Lizzie Damilola Blackburn

Did not finish book. Stopped at 42%.
I tried so hard to root for Yinka. But over a third into the book, I just couldn’t tolerate her lies and pathetic behavior anymore. She LITERALLY runs away from her problems. Every time she gets embarrassed, she runs away from a social function. We can’t even blame it on anxiety, social awkwardness, etc. She’s a coward. She has told so many lies including to her own family. I just can’t empathize or relate to her.

On her fifth time commenting on another woman’s buttocks, I knew I had to stop. On page 121: “Her bum is a pure letter D…It’s like a solar eclipse. You can’t help but look.”

There’s literally a Seinfeld episode where it’s George’s excuse that he’s looking at underage boobs. Just because it’s woman to woman and they are of age, does not mean it’s okay to stare at another woman’s butt? I have never thought so much about another’s woman’s body. I would have much rather liked if this book was about Yinka realizing she’s sexually attracted to women.
