I was really impressed with this book. It takes place in a very diverse space setting. Different species (without sounding speciest, one of the main characters is a feathered “lizard” and her species is very affectionate). The author comes up with new words, phrasing and history that even though I’ve never used these phrasing before, it was so easy to follow

It does flip flop between each member of the crew - which can be a bit jarring at first but it’s pretty fluid once you get used to it - especially when you’re in the perspective of a different non-human member of the crew and learn how their bodies work
