This is difficult book to put into words my thoughts. In a way, this reminded me of Our Wives Under the Sea. But this also had some real isolation horror as well
While the “scares” weren’t a lot, I feel the journey to those scares made this so much better. The description of the bay and the area this took place, I could almost feel what Jack was feeling as he was experiencing them
I’ve never been so far north that the sun doesn’t rise, but the idea of those areas always fascinate me. So reading the (while fiction) experiences of someone who is also seeing that for the first time, was really cool
If you’re wanting an arctic horror, with some beautiful imagery, definitely recommend this book. I may even check out Thin Air
