I waited months for this book and binged it in one day. This series unexpectedly became one of my favorite series.

I wasn't a huge fan of book 1 but I'm so glad that I kept reading because everything after that was amazing.

And my honorary mention goes to Argo.

I will say, the ending bothered me the more that I think about it. I appreciated
Malina sacrificing herself to undo the creation of the bridge and redeem herself but I found Auren's resurrection to be outlandish. I didn't care for how that was handled and it just felt unrealistic to me. I understand this is a fantasy book, but this didn't feel justified to me. I really don't even understand how she was able to defy death here and come back. It was lacking. I think the story would've been stronger had the author chosen to have Auren either die permanently or only have a near-death experience instead of actually dying.

Beyond that, I was underwhelmed with the ending in general. It almost felt like an afterthought to me and rushed.
