Lovely Girls by Margot Hunt
5.0
This was my Kindle FirstRead pick for February 2023. No regrets for picking this and I think Margot Hunt may be one of my new favorite thriller/suspense authors.
This is the story of Kate and Alex Turner, a mother and daughter who recently lost their husband & father, and move from Buffalo, NY to Shoreham, FL to start a new life. Once there, Kate befriends a trio of moms, while Alex clashes with their daughters. And when someone is found dead, friendships crumble and loyalties are tested…and of course, family secrets come to light. A story of what happens when the mean girls grow up…
So this is a thrilling read! It kept me turning the pages and wanting desperately to know what happens next. The author is wonderful and keeping up the tension, and there were very few slow parts. The characters may not be the most likeable, but they are written quite realistically and I felt like they could be real people with realistic motives.
Will certainly be looking out for more from the author in the future, as well as going through her backlist!
