I will never not hold a grudge against everyone who compares every romantasy book to acotar. I can’t wait for the day that series stops being the catch all comparison to every fantasy book. Justice for romantasy!! I beg!!

I’m super late to reading this I suppose. But I have this weird sort of anxiety that surrounds popular book series. It makes me not want to read them for fear they will be actually terrible and over hyped… called it ptsd if you will 🤕😅 I’ve just had to sit through or dnf so many popular books at this point I just get sad when I feel like I’ve wasted time. But this… this delivered.
Vampires, wolves, magic, spicy love, 10/10 banter, royals, enemies to lovers (she literally stabs him and rides him in the same chapter like ok!!!), I assume some sort mate situation but idk yet but fingers crossed.
Hawke and Poppy are so fun to witness. Their quips are so good, and their fondness feels so real. I loved learning of them. There’s a lot of emotions and feelings in here. Hawk is certainly a grey man, but I can’t help but love him still.
As I do with most big series, I dove into the (normal, non graphic) audiobook so I could listen while working and it was a treat. Sadly there’s a 25 week wait for the next audiobook so I don’t know when I’ll find the time to *read* the next book but hopefully it’s soon because that cliffhanger 🥵
