The Best of Friends by Lucinda Berry

5.0

Lucinda Berry does it again! I fell for her work after reading "The Perfect Child"...she really knows how to get into your head and under your skin.

This story is about 3 families whose sons are best friends, and something terrible happened one night. One is dead, one is in a coma, and the other won't speak. Their moms, in their grief, try to piece together what happened that night, and secrets come out about their marriages and relationships to their kids that they didn't know before, in their quest for the truth.

There's plenty of twists and turns and the ending is explosive. I hadn't seen that coming, at all. It's told by the moms' POV in first person - Kendra, Lindsey, and Dani. I enjoyed reading about all of them, and I felt like each of them are relatable in some way.

Well done! I'll be looking for more works by her.
