Overview

The goal of this challenge is to read at least one book by each laureate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. As I write this, there are several other such challenges. These challenges, however, either have a slightly different goal than this one (e.g. reading a book by each laureate up until 2031) or have not been updated to include the most recent winner, Jon Fosse (2023).

This is sort of a personal project, but I'm choosing to make it public for others to join if they should so desire. For laureates who mostly wrote poetry or plays, feel free to add a collection featuring various authors; I myself will be reading a play by José Echegaray as part of a collection of Spanish drama. For years with multiple laureates, the laureates are ordered alphabetically by last name. The sentence under each laureate's name is the reason they were awarded the prize according to the Committee at the time.

I will try to update this challenge every year, shortly after the winner is announced. If this list is missing the laureate from last calendar year, I've probably given up on updating it, or maybe I've deleted my account or (God forbid) been incapacitated in some way or another, making it unlikely that it will be updated again soon.
